The lecture will address the key components of the International Rule of Law (IRoL) and critically examine the connections between the IRoL and the three pillars of the United Nations system. In dissecting these connections, the lecture will explore the main challenges that the concept faces, especially in the context of the counterterrorism policies adopted by the United Nations system and the impact of these challenges on the legitimacy of the organization.
