The Research Program on the Theory and Practice of International Relations at the Institute of International Economic Relations (IIER) in Athens, Greece organizes a series of virtual lectures with distinguished scholars and brilliant speakers in the field of International Relations (IR).
On March 5, 2024, the Research Program was honored to host the second virtual lecture by Stephen Rosow, Professor Emeritus of Politics, State University of New York at Oswego: “Thinking Regions as Political Space.”
Professor Stephen Rosow analyzed how we think about regions as political space and how might doing so enable us to think differently and critically about contemporary politics.
He addressed three theoretical frames in modern Western political theory that have framed political space, State of Reason, Political Economy and Philosophy of History, in order to examine a piece of the recovery of complexity and plurality of “regionalization.”
A Q&A session and a relevant discussion followed.
Moderator: Effie Charalampaki (Head of the Research Program, IIER).
