Mr Plamen Tonchev, Head of Asia Unit at the Institute of International Economic Relations (IIER/ΙΔΟΣ), moderated two panels at the 11th edition of the Delphi Economic Forum on 24 April 2026:
– “Trade, Tech, Tension: Indo-Pacific Geoeconomics Today”, with the participation of L. Gordon Flake of the USAsia Centre in Perth, Australia; Tomoyuki Yoshida of the Japan Institute of International Affairs; Sandra Oudkirk of the US European Command; Pranjal Sharma, author of the book “India Innovates”; and Afentouli Despina of ELIAMEP (Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy).
– “How far is Mediterranean Europe from China and the Indo-Pacific region?”. The panel brought together Swasti Rao of the Jindal Global University in India; Helena Legarda Herranz of the Berlin-based Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS); and Renato Cruz De Castro of De La Salle University in the Philippines.
